The Story

Everyday flaked almonds — blanched, sliced paper-thin

Blanched almonds sliced into the paper-thin flakes you find on a good almond croissant or Bakewell. Toast them dry in a hot pan for two minutes and they turn deeply nutty. The everyday-priced sibling of our organic flaked almonds; around 21g protein and 12.5g fibre per 100g.

Best for

  • Decorating sponge cakes, traybakes and almond fingers
  • Sprinkling on yoghurt, porridge and granola bowls
  • Trout amandine and pan-fried white fish
  • Curries, pilafs and stir-fries

FAQ

Do I need to toast them? No, but it's worth it — two minutes dry in a hot pan deepens the flavour. Watch closely; they colour fast.

Flaked or nibbed? Flaked for delicate, decorative crunch on top; nibbed for chunkier 2mm pieces that hold their bite in and on bakes.

How should I store them? Cool, dark and dry; reseal after opening or decant into an airtight jar to keep them crisp.

Available from 250g home packs up to 10kg trade bulk — better price per kilo as you scale, and WFE Club members get trade pricing.
